Lexington Memorial- Paul Reilly

These plaques are located at the entrance of Cadaver Bridge. The bridge was paid for by the Cadaver Society. The two contrasting plaques bear the same message, "Cadaver Society A friend of the University" but are designed differently. The smaller plaque looks more worn and less ornate than the larger plaque. The coloring of the plaque in white makes the one plaque more distinct and noticeable when walking up to the bridge. The larger plaque depicts the Cadaver symbol adding the sense of curiosity surrounding the secret society. The Cadavers routinely write this symbol on banners or side walks around campus during home coming or alumni weekends yet this is the only permanent memorial to them on campus.

Due to the location on Cadaver Bridge; which connects main campus to Wilson Field and back campus, students gaze upon the plaques everyday. For visitors the bridge gives off an imposing and grandiose emotional effect. The fact that a society on campus could donate such a large project to the school adds to the viewing of the monument and overall viewing experience of the monument.
